LMMS tutorial on how to use a reverse crash cymbal as a buildup or transition.

Reversing a crash cymbal:

  1. Add a crash cymbal sample to the Beat+Bassline Editor, click tools then Clone This Track.

  2. In the Beat+Bassline Editor, click a crash cymbal to open the General Settings menu:
  3. Click Reverse to reverse this sample.

Creating the buildup:

  1. Open the Piano-Roll for the reversed crash cymbal.  Add a long note.

  2. Open the Piano-Roll for the normal crash cymbal.  Add a note a couple bars in.  You can also add a few notes layered at different pitches to get a fuller sound.

  3. Change the reversed crash note pitch until the reverse crash cymbal flows into the normal crash (the lower the pitch, the longer the note).
